old friends 2004-02-22 - 2:03 PM Saw Breakfast at Tiffany's yesterday. Wasn't very impressed. Roman Holiday and Sabrina are both way better. But the cat was awesome. Also saw Riding in Cars With Boys, which I can say is one of the few movies in which Drew Barrymore actually acts. What happened in the part of my life where I don't watch movies: Not a whole lot. I got in contact with a friend I haven't talked to in months. Funny thing is, he lives in my town, So it's not like the many far away friends I don't talk to. I always try to keep friendships forever. I hate it when I lose contact with a friend, especially for no good reason. I'm okay with losing a friend because we had a falling out or something (I don't like it, but I'm okay with it), but i can't stand it when I lose a friend due to the fact that we haven't talked in awhile. I'm always writing letters or emails to people i haven't talked to in forever, hoping that maybe they'll write back. And sometimes this works. But usually they'll write back and then I'll write back and then silence, and I'm back where i started. So I decided that i'm not going to try anymore. I'll maybe write one last letter (of course not saying it's the last letter), and if a friend wants to get in contact with me, they will. It's not for my lack of trying that we're not really friends anymore. And the cool thing is, this hasn't been a total failure. My friend Rebecca, who I had just about written off as a friend, wrote me a letter recently. And that made me happy. The thing is, we haven't seen each other since 1997. But we've kept in contact through letters and the internet. I love that.
