my parents were in town over the weekend. they LOOOOOOVE idaho. love it. i know i mentioned it before, but they think people here are SO NICE!!!

my mom:
"in philadelphia everyone yells and screams at you, but here people are so nice!"

i argued that i had never been yelled or screamed at in philadelphia, but my mom swears it happens to her at least once a day. i don't believe it for a second, but what if it was true? what could she possibly be doing that warrants being yelled at? (by the way, warrant is a awesome band that's totally underrated.)

anyway. i guess i don't like people being nice. i mean, if you're selling me a pack of cigarettes, we don't need to have a little conversation and pretend we like each other. but my parents really like that, i guess.

i saw "Spirited Away" with my parents. five minutes into the movie, my dad leans over to my mom and asks, "did you know this was going to be a cartoon?" and then he promptly fell asleep.

also:
i'm addicted to the NationStates game, which started as a promotional tool for Jennifer Government by Max Barry. I haven't read it yet. I read his previous book, Syrup, which was fucking hilarious. Sneaky Pete! 6! Scat!
